4th of July
Centuries have passed when for our freedom we first fought,
to let us live free from that tyrant we besot
Able men took up arms against our enemy across the sea
so you and I could live and pray as we please.
Let’s not take for granted our freedoms hard won.
We need to be diligent, our fight is not done,
as terrorist make plans in the middle of the night.
Plans to take innocent lives even as I write.
Have faith that those who celebrate on this Independence Day
will not allow the enemy our freedom to betray.
We must remain diligent to keep our country free
As we all celebrate on this 4th of July
